Silver’s Salon Series will focus on pertinent trends that are top of mind for our colleagues and clients in 2023. Please join Silver’s CEO, Fizza Khan, and Dave Rothschild, Partner at Cole-Frieman & Mallon, for our third installment of the Salon Series of 2023.
This evening is a chance for us to bring together CCOs, CEOs, and private fund managers in one room to discuss, and answer questions about, the new Private Fund Adviser Rules. Below are some of the themes we plan to break down throughout the course of the evening:
- The new reforms, which were adopted by the SEC on August 23, 2023, are different than what was laid out in the proposed amendments from April 2022. We will explain the adopted new rules in detail, breaking down what exactly has changed and the ways in which private fund managers, together with their compliance and legal teams, should be navigating the adopted new rules while staying compliant with regulators.
- Changes to the Private Fund Adviser Rules, under the U.S. Investment Advisers Act of 1940, are substantial and will have a tremendous impact on industry-wide business practices, increasing the regulatory burdens for private fund managers. The SEC will increase its scrutiny of managers during the exam process as a result of the areas of focus outlined by the new rules. We will provide insight on what firms need to know as they prepare for SEC exams under these new rules.
