Silver and Ropes & Gray Present on SFDR and DOL Final Rule

Silver's Head of ESG Strategy, Trysha Daskam, was joined by Ropes & Gray Partners Eve Ellis and Josh Lichtenstein for a webinar discussion covering updates on SFDR and the DOL’s evaluation and expected amendment to the Final Rule.

While the European Commission extended the date in which the Level Two rules under the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) will go into effect from January to July 2022, SFDR remains a key focus for EU and US managers. On September 21st, Silver hosted a live Webinar featuring its Head of ESG Strategy, Trysha Daskam, regulatory experts Eve Ellis, partner in Ropes & Gray’s asset management group, Josh Lichtenstein, head of Ropes & Gray’s ERISA fiduciary practice, in which they:

  1. Provided an update on the current state of compliance as it relates to SFDR;
  2. Explored the indirect impact of SFDR for U.S. managers, including potential reporting expectations, as driven by investor requests for information; and
  3. Discussed the DOL’s evaluation and expected amendment to the Final Rule, Financial Factors in Selecting Plan Investments, published in October 2020 that regulates ERISA managers when considering ESG factors as part of investment decisions.
